About Dave Visser
As a resident of the west side all of his life, Dave attended West Side Christian School and graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High in 1982. Dave attended Calvin College and has a business degree from Davenport University. He married his wife Kim in 1985 and has three children; Ashley, Kara, and Brad.
Dave’s commitment to building quality custom homes and condominiums is evident in the Northwest area. Although Dave has developed several subdivisions on the Northwest side, he certainly isn’t limited to this area. Dave has built homes in Rockford, East Grand Rapids, Sparta, Hudsonville, Marne and Kentwood and all major Grand Rapids Metropolitan areas.
Dave is involved in every aspect of the construction process. Dave works directly with his customers helping them pick out a lot, designing a plan and guiding them through the building process. Dave does all the estimating, putting together the contracts, scheduling the contractors, ordering materials etc. for every job. Dave checks his job sites daily, making sure everything is on schedule and works directly with his subcontractors. Communication between Dave and his contractors and the customers is an intricate part of Dave’s company. Dave is in constant communication with the client and welcomes the client’s changes or suggestions.
Dave attributes much of his success to his assistant Kathy Hiestand. Her over 20 years of experience in helping clients with property transfers, mortgages and home closings makes our building team a strong one.
Dave’s tradesmen are very skilled craftsmen in their respective fields and they take pride in the quality of the work they do. We are able to offer many features; special moldings, trim package, custom quality cabinetry etc. All our homes are built to be maintenance free and to meet all energy efficiency codes. Dave works directly with design consultants that will help clients select and coordinate the features of their home. We have many blueprints of homes available and we also offer custom design homes.
Dave Visser Builder is a member of the Greater Grand Rapids Home Builders Association. Dave has participated in the Parade of Homes since 1992.
Dave is involved in the community along with his attention to building. He has been a member of WestView CRC Church for over 20 years and served as a decon as well as many other committees. He also has served on WestSide Christian and Calvin Christian's capital fund drives and various commitees of each school. Dave has also built a home for the Tuition Assistance Fund for WSC School. Dave has also been involved with Habitat for Humanity as well to help people with their quest of owning a home.
